THE STUDIO
Studio Recording with Authentic French Je Ne Sais Quoi
Didier Gircourt is delighted to welcome you to his studio overlooking the Eiffel Tower, and most importantly, to introduce Mauricette, his now-famous voice-over booth, known throughout Paris.
Mauricette began her life in 1961 as a humble telephone box in a French post office. Today, she has been completely transformed. Behind her vintage charm and wooden silhouette lies a fully professional, high-performance recording booth, soundproofed and acoustically certified.
What makes her unique is this perfect blend of character and precision: a touch of French nostalgia wrapped around a no-compromise audio environment. From this one-of-a-kind space, Didier records and delivers native French voice-over work to clients and studios all over the world — live-directed, connected, and broadcast-ready.
The Advantages of Mauricette
Mauricette is an acoustic booth with high-level sound insulation.
It has been fully restored, inspected by an acoustician, and tested by numerous studios during recording sessions for commercials, trailers, and broadcasts.
Mauricette’s professional acoustic treatment is specifically designed for voice recording. It guarantees a flat frequency response, optimal isolation, with no coloration or unwanted reverberation. This sonic precision perfectly suits the voice of Didier Gircourt, a professional voice-over actor, who will bring your scripts to life.
Mauricette’s Equipment
Mauricette is equipped with a NEUMANN U87 microphone, a staple in recording studios, paired with an Apollo UNIVERSAL AUDIO interface, ensuring high-precision A/D conversion and ultra-low latency.
Connectivity is enabled through industry-standard protocols like Source-Connect and SessionLinkPRO, allowing real-time communication with sound engineers and artistic directors, thus ensuring constant quality control.
Mauricette is connected via fiber optics, and your studio can link up remotely if meeting physically isn’t possible (due to distance, strikes, weather, or health crises).
The Good Vibes of Mauricette
Once the door closes, a very special atmosphere takes hold in this timeless space.
In this wood-scented, preserved setting, one could almost forget that thousands of people used booth number 2 between 1961 and 1982!
With great respect, all those correspondents from another era left without a trace… Quite moving!

The early days of Mauricette
Mauricette was born on March 4th, 1959, in a workshop in Laon, in the Aisne region of northern France.
Her graceful stature, the quality of her woodwork, and her polished chrome fittings were a source of great pride for her creators: Jacques, Maurice, and Gérard…

Mauricette’s Installation
In 1961, she was installed in the post office of a small village in the heart of France.
She began her career near Sancerre, where she was given the number 2.

Mauricette, Reborn
Until 1982, Mauricette was the silent confidante of thousands of voices.
For over thirty years, she sheltered stories, secrets, and fleeting moments of life…
It was in 2018 that she was rediscovered at an antiques dealer’s — the charming Papy Moustache of Montmartre.
After a full restoration, she returned to service, much to the delight of studios and producers alike.
